  • Morgan + Tim's River Bend Ranch Wedding

Morgan and Tim are so fun!!! And so understandably their wedding day was just as fun! They are just pure, joy, smiles, giggles, stoke, and love. In addition to being wonderful and exciting to be around, they have such a sense of style and elegance and everything they put together screamed at me to capture it because it was all so beautiful! I had sooo much fun capturing their story, every moment of the day was exciting! They were just so happy the whole day, I don't think anything could've knocked them off their game or brought them down. River Bend Ranch just fit their vibe so well, it was such a beautiful day! Adela Floral helped highlight all the beauty with her gorgeous as always floral arrangements and bouquets. McKenna with Farmhouse Salon killed it with the hair and makeup, pair that with Morgan's a&be wedding dress she was an absolutely knockout. I am so grateful to have been a part of this day and given the opportunity to capture this piece of their story, I know their story will be so beautiful from here on out! I could keep going on about their day and their story, or I could just let their video speak for itself!

  • Hannah + Jon

Hannah + Jon Ridgewood Event Center I know I always say the wedding I shoot are overflowing with love and joy and happiness, and that is true, but Hannah and Jon's wedding was just another level of that! Bringing that west coast flair from California, Hannah and Jon are the LIFE of the party, and they partied it up all day at Ridgewood Event Center and Blue Lake Ranch. Heirlooms (coordination and design) with help from Linnaea Design (florals) and Durango Party Rental did an amazing job making everything look beautiful! Durangourmet (catering) and Skillfully Decadent (cake and desserts) helped add beauty and flavor to the day through their delicious contributions. Stephen Sellers (DJ) and Thirsty Rooster (drinks) kept the party going and the delicious signature drinks flowing! BreeAnne Kelly from The Chair (hair and makeup) along with a phenomenal Novella Bridal dress had Hannah looking drop dead gorgeous! Jon looked good in his stunning blue suit from Hall Madden who apparently decked out multiple guests! It was a sharply dressed crowd! Their day was just so beautiful and full of lovely fun surprises and personal details. Their ceremony was very unique because of one of these surprises, or I guess many surprises. Officiant, Uncle Tom, had been working with the guests to create a one of a kind immersive ceremony experience. He had connected with multiple friends and family members to surprise Hannah and Jon with "toasts" you could say, sprinkled throughout their ceremony. Uncle Tom wove these cute anecdotes and blessings throughout the ceremony, asking friends and family to stand up and take part with a preselected tidbit to add to the day. There were stories about Jon and Hannah meeting, about how good of friends they were to those they loved, how independent and strong they were, and more! It was truly a beautiful way to celebrate them! But that was not the only surprise Uncle Tom had up his sleeve! After dinner (which was delicious by the way, Durangourmet NEVER disappoints) After all the lovely toasts (which were all a great mix of funny and meaningful, as a perfect toast should be) After the cake was cut and cupcakes were eaten After first dances were danced (and a few "played" haha) There was another surprise. Now to preface this surprise I need to tell you something about Hannah and Jon. They love singing and dancing, and therefore they love the theater and they love musicals. A particular favorite musical around this time of their life was The Greatest Showman. They used songs from the show to walk down the aisle even. And one song in the show, I can't even think about without tearing up because it is just so beautiful and powerful. That song is called, From Now On. So the last surprise was Uncle Tom coming out, in a top hat and blazer with a staff just like Hugh Jackman's character in The Greatest Showman. And they played From Now On. Everyone was in on it and they made it a musical number, it felt like a musical come to life! It was exceptionally beautiful, meaningful, and such a wonderful note to end such a beautiful wedding day on. So congratulations Hannah and Jon, I wish you all the love and happiness From Now On.

  • Jessica + Dillon Dalton Golf Wedding

Jessica and Dillon had the coolest golf themed wedding I have ever seen. Granted it was the first golf themed wedding I have ever shot, but it was amazing! They had awesome personal details all over the place! I loved seeing their engagement photos everywhere and their names and fun little things were on everything! They just incorporated so many personal details and things into their day which is my favorite! They had their ceremony in Jessica’s parent’s backyard at Dalton, which is just in range of one of Dalton Golf Course’s greens! Which will be important to remember in a moment. The girls were getting ready inside the house while the boys got ready at the club house, and everyone was just having such a fun time hanging out and getting ready. The girls were taking Polaroid photos and had all the cute little prints laid out on a table, and Liz Hemminger ( with ReyLynn’s) did an amazing job with the girl’s hair and makeup. The guys had shots and played a little pool (and were totally ready when I arrived for their photos!) And everyone was just stoked for the day! Jessica looked amazing in her dress from Bri’s Bridal, and the guys looked amazing in their tuxes from Katerina’s Darling Bridal! I love when couples use so many local vendors! The ceremony was beautiful, the officiant was the Dillon's father so the ceremony had some wonderful personal details in it! Jessica even got a little emotional during her vows, which sounds normal unless you know Jessica and the fact that she does not get emotional very often! So it tugged my heart strings seeing her get so emotional talking about her love for Dillon. After the ceremony was just about wrapped up, Jessica and Dillon both went right behind the ceremony arch and hit a few golf balls onto the green I mentioned before. I thought it was so cool that they could do that right there at the ceremony site! Even family photos had so much meaning and personal details incorporated into them. Jessica had a sister that passed away very young, and Dillon’s mother passed away when he was younger. So they incorporated photos of the two into their family photos, holding the frames and smiling making it feel like there were really there to take the photos with them. I thought that was a really great way to incorporate loved ones who have passed on into their day. Once all the formal photos wrapped up, Jessica and Dillon hopped in their decked out wedding golf cart and took a little drive over to the reception at Dalton’s Club House. I had to race over there to capture their arrival along with all their guests! It was so fun seeing them drive over a cute little bridge to all their cheering friends and family. There were more fun golf details at the reception, they had cute little tees at all the tables with their names and wedding date on them. Their cake was amazing, Jocelyn Skill with Skillfully Decadent does such amazing work! My favorite detail of their cake was that there were two golf balls incorporated into the little greens and sand traps on top of the cake. One ball was close to the hole, and one was in the sand trap. I took a tiny poll asking around about which ball belonged to who, and overwhelmingly everyone said the one in the sand trap must be Dillon’s haha. The reception was so fun, with such an amazing view of the beautiful golf course backdropped by mountains. Everyone just seemed to be having such a fun time the whole night. Between beautiful toasts, touching first dances, hilarious bouquet and garter tosses the night was a resounding success! I will admit there was one scary moment near the end of my time where we thought the groom had lost his ring, but everyone pitched in to look, continued dancing with their phone flashlights to the ground and the ring was eventually found! Yay! It was just such a great, fun, beautiful day. Congratulations Jessica and Dillon on getting to golf together for the rest of your days!

  • Chelsey + Matt Rustic South Dakota Wedding

Chelsey and Matt’s wedding was phenomenal! So beautiful and fun! But I am getting ahead of myself, let’s do some backstory. So I know Chelsey and Matt because they went to college with my husband Natan and were great friends, so when they announced they were getting married, we knew we had to be there. But there was a date mix up and it turned out I was already booked for June 12, 2021. The couple who booked me had just moved their 2020 date to 2021, Chelsey and I were so sad and disappointed. BUT, then the couple that had booked their date ended up deciding to elope in 2020 after all so the date opened up again! So pretty much it was fate that I had to photograph this wedding. So as soon as the date opened up again, Natan and I were looking for flights to South Dakota. We decided to get there a few days early, because they are friends and we wanted to see them before things got too crazy! Also because I always have this fear of flights cancelling or something happening if I book too close to the wedding date, (Black Mirror’s episode Nosedive has scarred me.) So we got there early, along with another one of their college friends, and were able to hang out and help get their property all spruced up for the wedding. And if you have seen any of the photos, you may have thought their wedding was at a big fancy expensive venue because it was so awesomely perfect and beautiful, but no, they just live there! Their property is in an area they call Mielkeville, because Matt’s last name is Mielke and this land, along with about 1000 acres around it, has been in his family for over 5 generations. His family lives in many different beautiful properties around theirs, and if you climb to the top of their silo, it’s like the Lion King "everything the light touches". So everything wedding related happened right at home for them, which was so awesome! Their ceremony site was AMAZING, definitely one of the top ceremony sites I’ve ever shot. Beautiful lighting for the processional, ceremony and recessional. They were backdropped by a beautiful tunnel of trees that opened up to a beautiful field. I seriously thought I just jumped into a romantic movie or something when we first got there. Then there was their reception barn, that was SO cool, it was called Adolf’s Place after Adolf Mielke who used to live there. There was just so much history and personality and meaning throughout this wedding. Everything had us crying or laughing, it was just such an amazing day. And I have to give a shoutout to the amazing vendors, especially the DJ who just really knocked my socks off. Seriously if you are looking for a DJ that keeps the party going, incorporates awesome games into dinner time, and is not only an awesome DJ but a super talented singer and performer, Denham is your guy! No matter where you are, call him! Florals: The Flower Mill Hair and Makeup: Kacey Brown Cake: The Cake Lady Dress: The Green Bride DJ: Denham Mcdermott

  • Debra + Brandon Adventure Engagement

Okay I cannot talk enough about adorable these two are and how I just wanted to keep photographing them forever haha. I will try not to use the word adorable too many times in this post, but no promises because, look at them. Deb and Brandon brought their maid of honor along to their engagement shoot, and she was SUCH a great assistant, and she can attest to the fact that I was pretty much losing my mind the whole shoot over how cute these two are. I mean the love just pours out of their faces. I absolutely CANNOT wait for their wedding next year, I just can’t wait to photograph them again, they made it so fun and easy! So I’ll just stop there and show you the photos or else this will just end up being a really long post of me gushing about how cute and awesome and fun and nice and wonderful these humans are. So I’ll just explain through imagery!
