  • Baby Jacob

I got to shoot my first baby session in my new boho room and it went great! Baby Jacob was a little uncomfortable due to being hungry and digesting things, but we still captured some fantastic stuff. I got to work with Jacob's mom and dad Jenna and Chris on a fun creative ice falls shoot at cascade last winter and we were planning on doing a Maternity session with Jenna but then it was just a little too late! Haha, so we turned it into a baby session, which was great because I loved meeting their little bundle. Check out these adorable little fingers and toes! Also that one image of Jenna looking at Chris and Jacob is soooo sweet.

  • McConnell Fall Family

This was a whirlwind session as the light is disappearing faster and faster every day! We did have to take a little break to catch a cool shot of a tarantula that we found on the path, but otherwise we got through this shoot with lightning speed! The McConnell's are good friends, I've been working with them for a few years, and recently Jenn McConnell helped throw our housewarming party! Which was a complete success! I love being able to give back to this amazing family through photography!!

  • Stefanie + Dalton Engagement/Family Session

Stefanie and Dalton booked me for their wedding and then we shot their engagement session right away! I love getting to know my couples as soon as I can so that they aren't just a name on my calendar. Stefanie brought her two boys on this engagement session with her, so it became an engagement/family shoot. I loved this because Dalton is not the boy's biological father, so they are in a way engaged to him as well as a family. Dalton is about to become a major major part of these boy's lives so it just made sense to have them involved. This is their new little family! We did this session at 8am along the river trail, so it started off cold! These guys were all troopers though and it warmed up pretty quickly, plus having cuddly blankets was helpful! We had so much fun just adventuring down the river trail, which also allowed us to talk a little more between locations. I cannot wait now to shoot their wedding, and I am so excited for them to solidify their family a little more through this marriage. They have gone through some rough stuff in the past few years and just deserve all the happiness!

  • Chloe + Andrew Engagement

“Sometimes you meet a person and you just click - you’re comfortable with them, and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything” I love it when I meet my clients for the first time in person and we just click. When Chloe and Andrew came by for their engagement session, even though the last and only time we have heard or seen each other was over Skype was in May almost six months ago, I felt like we just clicked. They got out of their car and I came down my stairs and greeted them excitedly with hugs. My parents happened to be out in the yard (we’re neighbors) and after I got home they asked if I had known them for a long time because it just seemed like we were old friends. These people who were total strangers before hiring me for their wedding become life long friends. That’s what I want in my clients, for them to become friends. I’ve had people ask my couples at their wedding if they hired a friend as their photographer, and in a way they say yes because by that point we are friends, and that’s my favorite part. I can tell it’s going to be that way with these two. Chloe and Andrew have a wonderful energy about them, they are fun and sweet and a joy to be around. Our session was an adventure, they were up for anything, even when I had them climb steep hills and stand between strange tall plants or climb up onto a log surrounded by beautiful but sticky burrs, they were all in and happy about it! I’m so glad they found me and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in July!

  • Ridgewood Event Center

Ridgewood Event Center has been one of my favorite venues to shoot this year. It is beautiful, has so many amazing diverse areas to shoot within walking distance of the ceremony and reception sites, and has amazing people running the show. So I was very excited when I was invited to be a part of a super fun creative day of shooting multiple different brides, in beautiful dresses from Bri's Bridal, in different fun settings with artistic and creative themes! It was an all day shoot of just non stop creative fun! My favorite thing about the day was the sense of family and friendship between everyone involved, Joan Alford who runs Ridgewood and Blue Lake Ranch, brought all these people together to create a little Ridgewood family. As much as I love this location and shooting fun things, this is what really got my attention was her plan about making a little vendor family. I truly believe every vendor involved in a wedding day has to work together as a team to give the couple the best experience possible, at the end of the day it isn't about us, it's about them, and the better we can all work together the better experience we can all deliver. So enjoy this little photo and video snippet of a fantastic day in a beautiful and fun place. • Jessica + Paul Rustic Ranch Wedding

Jessica and Paul's wedding day was all about them. There was a cozy feeling throughout the day, everything felt very personal and thoughtful. They got married at Wagon Road Ranch, owned by Jessica's aunt and uncle. The location definitely helped to give a nice intimate feeling to their day while still being able to share it with a good number of close friends and family. There were so many personal details added to make their day thiers. Jessica was able to include her late mother in the celebration through her bouquet in a beautiful pendant containing some of her mother's ashes. I had not seen anything like that before and thought it was such a beautiful way of including her. Jessica added beautiful gold and copper leaf to her veil. During their ceremony they had a toast with mead that Paul had made (that was soooo delicious by the way, they gave me a bottle as a gift because they are amazing). They had their wedding party each read a meaningful quote and they read their own vows from a beautiful little hand written vow booklet. I think my favorite thing they added to their ceremony though was afterwards. Jessica and Paul had a jewish ceremony, signed their katubah before the ceremony, smashed a glass at the end, but they incorporated another jewish tradition I had never heard of that I thought was pretty awesome, yichud. Yichud is a 15 minute period where the bride and groom are alone immediately following the ceremony. So while everyone headed over to cocktail hour they got to be alone and just soak in the fact that they are now married! What a wonderful tradition to add to your day! It did also help that they had a first look and got all the family formal portraits done before the ceremony, so that made it easier to let everyone got to cocktail hour while they had their yichud. One last detail I really want to mention is that Jessica's dad made them a two person rocking chair that was incredibly beautiful and I wanted to steal it! Congratulations Jessica and Paul on a lovely wedding day, thanks for letting me be a part of it!

  • Ty + Richard 5 Year Marriage Celebration Wedding

Ty has had her wedding dress for years and finally on September 14th she got to wear it. Ty and Richard have actually been married for 5 years, but they had never had a real wedding. So as a vow renewal, they celebrated 5 years by getting their wedding! They put together a very balanced day of casual and all out! They got married at The Glacier Club with a quick little ceremony, surrounded by close friends, and celebrating their successful 5 years. I had the privilege of being both their photographer and videographer, capturing all the little bits and pieces of their day from matching tattoos, to meaningful father daughter moments, to cake face smushes. Ty and Richard grew up together in Dolores, and two days after their wedding they moved to Texas together for Richard's job. So even though they have been married so long, this wedding still launched them into a new adventure together!!! So congratulations Ty and Richard on a very successful celebration!

  • Heather + Ian Engagement at Rotary

I loved this engagement session, because I love working with cuddly couples who are more focused on each other than the camera. I had so much fun photographing these two, they were so up for all my ideas, and we made some really beautiful imagery together. So without further ado, Heather and Ian’s beautiful engagement photos!

  • Michelle + Justin - Love Through Rain or Shine

Michelle and Justin hired me for their wedding about nine months ago, and I have loooved getting to know them over that time. Their love story is one of the cutest ever! Their engagement story is so awesome! As I've gotten to know Justin it has become apparent that he likes surprises and pranks. So now that I know him a little more their engagement story makes so much sense. He brought Michelle to the airport, told her what to pack just enough so she was prepared but had no idea where they were going. So when they arrived to their gate that said "PARIS" Michelle was totally floored. He flew her to Paris and proposed under the Eiffel Tower! As a surprise!!! So that gives you a little taste of how adorable they are. I had been looking forward to this wedding because of how warm and friendly these two have been to me. When I showed up at their wedding I didn't feel like just another vendor, I felt like a friend. Michelle was a little worried about the rain, (okay very worried) and I tried to help let her know that it was going to all be fine. I felt like just another friend or family member trying to calm her nerves. They had to set everything up and then take it all down due to weather, a few times, before the ceremony. Then when the ceremony started it was cloudy but fine. They each gave each other little surprises throughout the ceremony, Justin took off his vest to reveal neon green suspenders (his color), and Michelle surprised him back with vows specifically for Justin's son Landan which was so cute I'm pretty sure everyone cried. Including the clouds. Just as soon as they were nearing the end of their ceremony the heavens opened up and gave them a little water blessing. It may have seemed like the worst was happening at the time, pouring rain on your wedding day, but it ended up making the rest of the day that much more beautiful. Once the clouds parted, the light and feeling of the evening was absolutely magical! You know that fresh beautiful feeling after a good rain, now imagine the sun comes out and lights up the mountains, you and your new spouse and nothing else. I thought it was so beautiful and magical! Michelle and Justin, I wish you all the happiness, love and fun surprises for the rest of your journey together. Remember the adventure is only beginning! Check out their full video below and their sneak peak video above.

  • Thompson Family

With little ones it is easiest for them to stick close to the house, and how lucky am I that close to the house means all these beautiful backdrops and scenery!!! Thank you for letting me capture your beautiful family, it was so fun!!!

  • Katie + Bryan's Intimate Backyard Wedding

I got married on a front porch, very intimate ceremony with very few people in attendance. I got home from work, threw my dress over my shoulder and went and got married. Katie and Bryan's wedding day reminded me a lot of my own, but with more thought and flare put into everything haha. They got ready at Bryan's family home in Edgemont, east of Durango. They got ready in separate sides of the house and got married up the hill (the very steep hill haha) in the backyard. However when I think of backyard weddings, I never picture what I saw at the top of that hill (much fancier than what we had put together for our backyard wedding haha). They had tied two aspen trunks together in a triangle as their arch, with flowers attached off center at the top and all around the base. The flowers by Floral Expressions in Bayfield were absolutely amazing! They really brought the whole look together. Katie's hair looked effortlessly beautiful, styled by McKenna Thurston, and her dress was a beautiful light lace, all together she looked absolutely stunning! They had a very intimate ceremony, I felt so honored to be a part of it. It was just the couple, their parents, the officiant and me. They put so much personalization into their little wedding, it was small but it had just as much heart and effort put into it as if there had been 100 people there watching. They had a champagne toast, they put three bottles of wine into a box to share on their first three anniversaries. Katie put a charm of her late father on her bouquet and they created a cairn to honor those not with them. Katie and Bryan had such a heartwarming and beautiful day, and the perk for me of such an intimate wedding was that I got to know them even more. They even invited me (without my camera) to their small reception dinner at the Mahogany Grill that evening. That really showed me what kind of people they are that they would include me as another person and not a hired professional, to partake with them in something so special. I just cannot express enough how wonderful this wedding was, how full of spirit and warmth and love, you don't always need the huge tent or the elaborate cake or 200 of your friends and family to make it the most memorable occasion to celebrate your love together.

  • Kelli + Jacob's Lush Glacier Club Wedding

I am so happy I got to shoot Kelli and Jacob's wedding! They contacted me a long time ago about doing video, but originally decided it wasn't in the budget. Months later they reached out again saying the more they thought about it, the more they really wanted a video. I am so glad they changed their minds! I had so much fun with them, it was such a beautiful day, their family and guests were so nice and fun to hang out with, and they were just the sweetest couple to work with! Their ceremony took place on the helicopter pad at Glacier Club, and their reception was at the Glacier Club House in the midst of all these beautiful aspen trees. They had their first look on a stunning winding bridge on the grounds and we were able to pop by the lake for some beautiful couple portrait time right after the ceremony. I got to work with Allison Ragsdale Photography who is one of my close photographer friends and did an amazing job! All the images were made that much more beautiful with Natalie McLain of Adela Floral's beautiful work on the flower arrangements. Mr. Soul Entertainment helped get the party going and Glacier Club tied it all together beautifully with their rustic yet elegant venue. Here is their sneak peak if you don't want to watch through their whole video below, but I highly suggest you do because they had such a beautiful day!
